Product Notes

Bruce L. Warden began his musical career at 9 with private accordion lessons and started trumpet in the sixth grade band program in South Beloit, IL. While attending Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL, his trio, The Bruce Warden Trio, did 2 two-hour live concerts over WJPF-AM, Herrin, IL, 2 one-hour live TV shows at WHAS-TV, Harrisburg, IL, and a special 1-1/2 hour concert at the Marion Federal Maximum Security Prison at Marion, IL to 320 inmates (12 were in solitary confinement and could not attend). Bruce received an all-expense paid trip to play at the 1965 Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Inauguration, playing at the Emerson Hotel in Baltimore,MY, and in the House Of Representives and the Senate Building, in Washington, D.C.. In Rockford,IL, Bruce became a member of a five pieve show group, Mike Wolfe and the Sofisicats. The group\'s drummer was Gary Burgoff, who later returned to New York City to become Charlie Brown on Broadway and then RADAR on M.A.S.H., both the movie and TV series. During college, Bruce began self-study on piano. In 1968, his first recording project was an LP national release album, Sing Along At Shakey\'s, having a piano and banjo lead with bass and vocal background, for the national restaurant chain. The LP included two original songs by Bruce, Through The Years/Together Now My Love and Banjo, Lead The Way. This first album gave Bruce the honor of being recognized as a professional songwriter and, therefore, was accepted into ASCAP,(American Society Of Composers, Authors, & Publishers). A nusical tribute, Just For Judi, written and recorded by Bruce, was given to Miss Judi Ford, Miss America of 1969, and released in \'45\' format of which a plaque of the record was made and presented to Miss Ford by Bruce at a Miss America Regional Pageant program in Beloit, WI. In 1975, I Was A Fool was written and recorded by Bruce and released on Vincent Records. In 1976, a five piece dixieland group, The Flukes Of Dixie, with Bruce on piano, recorded an LP album, Flukes Of Dixie On Tour?, and it was released on WGE Records. In 1988, another group, Bruce Warden and the Counts Of Dixie, released a cassette tape album, Sunshine Down The Middle, on the WGE Records label, which included the originals, Sunshine Down The Middle, and Banjo, Lead The Way! The group did a concert at the Baldheaded Men Of America National Convention in Morehead City, NC. The song, Sunshine Down the Middle, was declared the National Theme Song by the organization at the convention. The BBC from London picked up the cassette album and later released these selections in Canada and Japan. In 1992, Bruce was honored to write, Ross Can Do It, for the Ross Perot Presidential Election Campaign. Later, in 1996, he felt to do a patriotic expression, United We Stand, America, to state how we are standing together, shoulder to shoulder in harmony to rebuild the Red, White & Blue. In 2000, Bruce wrote and presented the original song, Mr. Groovy GroundHog, to the City of Punxsutawney which was later endorsed by the Honorable Mayor John Hallman as the official song for GroundHog Day which has been celebrated for 114 years on February 2 in Punxsutawney,PE and across the world. Payin\' through The Nose, his Debut CD, also the album title song, in a piano/banjo punchy country format with a taste of swing easy jazz as background, expresses the current country\'s state of affiars in a humorous way of comparing taxes to a never getting rid of-a-cold that keeps coming back every year. Another original, the end cut to be proud of is, Thank GOD I\'m Bald. It gives the cool smooth look stand up asnd cheer attitude in today\'s manly appearance and relates to Paul Schaffer of the Late night With David Letterman show.
