Vivacious and innovative, C Force is an ensemble that offers a unique approach to the traditional concept of chamber music. The combination of their instruments of expertise (flute, euphonium and piano) allows for many types of classical music interpretation. Their individual and collective interests in regional and world music also afford many opportunities for the exploration of performances of all types of non-traditional musical forms. Tchaka mizik is a reflection of C Force's unique fusion of cultures and styles. Traditional classical music is heard in original works by composers from the Caribbean countries of Guadeloupe (Joseph Boulogne - 1739-1799 ) and Haiti (Julio Racine - b. 1945). Transcriptions of popular opera duets by Verdi, Bizet and Delibes showcase popular tunes through unique instrumentation. The folk music of Haiti is explored in the arrangements of Jaegerhuber and Lamothe (Chansons folkloriques d'Haiti and Nibo) while Tilla is an original composition featuring the popular goombay style of The Bahamas. C Force members Christine Gangelhoff, Chris Justilien, and Christy Lee, are all faculty members at The College of The Bahamas and currently reside in Nassau.
