Product Notes

Manifest Destiny is a musical exploration of 19th-century America. It's six songs touch upon the Civil War, the Great Diamond Hoax of 1872, the Industrial Revolution, and more! Rock junkies and academics alike will be satisfied as never before, because Clawjob has infused this EP with crunchily diseased guitars, viciously abused drums, and excitingly humiliated synthesizers! The lush opening track, 'The Era of Good Feelings,' will, from it's bittersweet first chord, make tears shoot from your eyes at the speed of musket balls. Shaped by flesh puncturing guitars, 'Slice Me Up' is quick blast of battlefield surgery rock. The hypnotic bass of 'Ether Frolic' will transport you to a gathering of the 1800's upper crust as they inhale novel and copious gases. 'Diamond Hoax' is the story of two men who conned a number of wealthy people into investing in diamond-encrusted land in Wyoming that didn't actually exist. A rousing slab of inspirational self-delusion, 'This Glorious System' takes a claw hammer to Industrial Revolution optimism. Finally, the ominous acoustic guitars of 'Reservations' provide an uncomfortable bed for upsetting lyrics about the United States' most critically-acclaimed major genocide.
