Product Notes

Cornwall, jutting out into the Atlantic halfway between Ireland and Brittany, stands at the sharp end of the island it shares with Scotland, Wales, and England. Cornwall's surprisingly strange, yet strangely familiar music has it's roots in ancient British/Celtic culture, but also buzzes with a host of other influences swept in by the surrounding tides. At the cutting edge of Cornish music is Dalla. With their firm grounding in the tradition, their pivotal position at the heart of the revival, and their wealth and diversity of experience, it's easy to see why Dalla have the edge. The CD 'Rooz' was the third album by Dalla and was released in March 2007. Other CDs by Dalla: 'A Richer Vein' (2001), More Salt' (2003), 'Cribbar' (2010), and 'K5' (2013) Dalla members: Hilary Coleman (Vocals, Clarinets), Neil Davey (Fiddle, Bouzouki, Mandolin), Bec Applebee (Vocals, Percussion) Rooz also features additional guests on Vocals, Percussion and Spoken word.
